USTDA Welcomes Two New Making Global Local Partners to Promote U.S. Exports

January 13, 2015

(USTDA) ARLINGTON, VA –The U.S. Trade and Development Agency today announced its partnership with the Elgin Development Group (Illinois) and the City of Charlotte (North Carolina) through the Agency's Making Global Local program.

“As we embark on a new year, USTDA looks forward to collaborating with the Elgin Development Group and the City of Charlotte on innovative ways to support high-paying jobs in Illinois and North Carolina by increasing U.S. exports to emerging markets,” stated USTDA Director Leocadia I. Zak.

Making Global Local connects companies across the country to USTDA's export promotion programs through strategic partnerships between the Agency and local economic development organizations. By understanding USTDA's programs and priorities, the Elgin Development Group and the City of Charlotte can help companies in their states identify sales opportunities in emerging markets.

Over the past few years, U.S. companies have increasingly targeted emerging economies as export destinations. Given its unique role, USTDA is perfectly positioned to help its Making Global Local partners support U.S. businesses interested in entering or expanding their presence in developing and middle-income countries.
