Oklahoma Firm Named 2015 Small Business Exporter of the Year

(SBA) Award to be Presented at White House Ceremony as Part of National Small Business Week Celebrations

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sawyer Manufacturing Company, a global provider of pipeline and welding equipment with headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as Small Business Exporter of the Year.

The award will be presented at a ceremony at the White House, on the last day of National Small Business Week, Friday afternoon, May 8. A reception will follow the awards ceremony. Andrew Martins and Scott Persson from Sawyer Manufacturing are accepting the award on behalf of all its employees.

The Small Business Exporter of the Year award recognizes the accomplishments of a small company that has shown superior creative strategies in developing international markets, increased export sales and profits, or found creative solutions to business challenges in exporting, among other criteria.

Founded by Red Sawyer and AB Jensen back in 1948, Sawyer Manufacturing Company has grown to a 40-staff firm that exports to more than 50 countries, was recognized in 2013 as part of Tulsa’s “Fast 40,”,a ranking of the metro area’s fastest growing companies, and is an active mentor for other local businesses.
